Nigeria is working to enhance its foreign relations by collaborating with Palestine and Saudi Arabia, as new discussions have begun regarding humanitarian aid, pilgrimage coordination, and international cooperation. More details are provided below.
After high-level meetings with officials from Palestine and Saudi Arabia in Abuja, Nigeria is making progress in its foreign relations.
On Wednesday, Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar met with the Palestinian Ambassador to Nigeria, Muhannad Halmouri, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Their discussions were aimed at strengthening bilateral ties while addressing consular services, humanitarian aid, and regional issues affecting both countries.
A statement from the Ministry noted that this engagement is part of Nigeria’s ongoing diplomatic strategy to build strong international partnerships and address shared challenges.
In a separate meeting on Tuesday, Tuggar also hosted Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Rabia, the Saudi Arabian Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, along with his delegation.
Their discussions centered on improving cooperation in pilgrimage coordination and related consular matters, particularly for Nigerian pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia.
These diplomatic efforts come at a time when international security collaboration involving Nigeria is increasing.
Recently, the United States deployed a small troop contingent to the country following agreements with the Federal Government to enhance counterterrorism efforts in West Africa.
