The legal dispute between beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme and the Federal Government of Nigeria over the alleged non-payment of stipends resumed in court today, with fresh updates emerging from the latest proceedings.
At the hearing, which concluded earlier in the day, only the third defendant was present in court, while the first, second, and fourth defendants were absent.
During the proceedings of case suit No. NICN/ABJ/214/2025, the court was informed that the first and fourth defendants had attended the previous sitting before the matter was adjourned. It was also revealed that hearing notices had been properly served on the second and third defendants ahead of today’s session.
After confirming that the case was duly listed for mention, the court held that the absence of certain defendants would not stall the process. The presiding judge subsequently adjourned the matter to May 19, 2026, for the continuation of the hearing.
In addition, the court ordered that fresh hearing notices be issued and re-served on the first, second, and fourth defendants to ensure their appearance at the next hearing.
The suit, which focuses on claims of unpaid stipends owed to participants of the N-Power programme, continues to attract public interest as beneficiaries pursue legal action to recover their alleged entitlements.
