A young supporter, Linus Ayuka, who embarked on a 343-kilometre journey on foot from Taraba State to Adamawa State in solidarity with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reportedly been left stranded and uncertain after failing to secure a meeting with the state leader.
Ayuka, who arrived in Adamawa two days ago after days of trekking, is said to be confused about his next move as efforts to meet the governor have yet to yield results. His long walk was aimed at showing support for Fintiri’s policies, particularly in infrastructure development and governance.
Sources within the Government House in Yola indicate that the governor may be scheduled to travel out of the state, raising further doubts about the possibility of a meeting.
Determined not to give up, Ayuka is reportedly planning to head to the airport in a last attempt to catch a glimpse of the governor, even if only briefly.
This marks the second time the trekker has undertaken such a demanding journey in support of Fintiri, having completed a similar long-distance walk in 2023. However, unlike the previous effort, his latest trek now appears to be in limbo, with no official acknowledgment or response from the governor so far.
The situation has sparked mixed reactions, with some observers praising Ayuka’s dedication and loyalty, while others question the lack of immediate engagement from authorities despite the physical and emotional commitment involved.
As uncertainty lingers, all eyes remain on whether the governor will respond before departing the state, or if the determined supporter’s journey will end without the recognition he had hoped for.
