A 28‑year‑old man has been arrested in connection with the death of his wife following a domestic dispute in Lagos State, highlighting once again the urgent need for stronger protections against gender‑based violence and dispute escalation. This development was reported today, April 8, 2026, after the incident occurred in their shared home in the Ikeja area on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
According to police statements, officers were alerted by neighbours after disturbances were heard from the couple’s residence.
Upon arrival, the wife was found unresponsive and emergency responders took her to a nearby hospital. She was later pronounced dead, and her husband was taken into custody for questioning.
Authorities say the arrest was based on the outcome of preliminary investigations, and that the suspect will be charged if sufficient evidence is established.
