The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of its Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Khan Salihu.
The sad news was confirmed on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in an official statement. According to the statement, DCP Salihu passed away on 15 June 2026.
Describing the late officer as a dedicated and accomplished professional, the Command paid tribute to his years of service and commitment to the Nigeria Police Force.
“DCP Khan Salihu was a highly dedicated, disciplined and committed senior police officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with exceptional professionalism, loyalty and integrity,” the statement read.
The Command noted that throughout his distinguished career, he demonstrated remarkable leadership, diligence and an unwavering commitment to duty. His extensive experience and administrative expertise were said to have played a significant role in strengthening the management and operational effectiveness of the Lagos State Police Command.
His death has come as a profound shock to colleagues and personnel within the Command, many of whom remember him as a respected officer whose contributions left a lasting impact on the Force.
Reacting to the loss, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, colleagues and loved ones.
The Command prayed for strength and comfort for those mourning his passing and honoured his legacy of dedicated service to the nation.
