Mr. Karamo Yesiro, the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has died suddenly 24 hours after being re‑elected at the party’s state congress held at Onikan Stadium in Lagos. His passing was confirmed by the party on March 5, 2026, prompting shock and widespread condolences from political colleagues and supporters.
Yesiro’s death came barely a day after he secured his position alongside other executive members during the Lagos APC Congress, a gathering intended to shape party leadership ahead of upcoming political engagements. He was expected to be inaugurated with the newly elected Lagos State APC executives, a role that would have placed him at the centre of the party’s organisational and communicative efforts in the region.
Seye Oladejo, the party’s spokesman, described Yesiro’s passing as a “painful and tragic loss,” emphasising his energy, commitment, humility and dedication to progressive politics. The statement highlighted the abrupt end to a tenure that had just begun, noting that Yesiro had left a lasting impression on colleagues and members alike.
APC leadership, members and political associates have extended heartfelt condolences to Yesiro’s immediate family, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time. The sudden death underscores the fragility of life, even amid moments of political success and optimism.
