The Ondo State government has taken a significant step towards enhancing security by installing Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras across all secondary hospitals under the control of the Hospital Management Board (HMB).
This initiative forms part of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration efforts to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and medical assets, particularly in light of the rising insecurity and criminal activities targeting healthcare facilities in Nigeria.
According to a report by Starnews NG, the 360-degree video surveillance system was announced in a message posted to the HMB WhatsApp platform on Monday.
The acting Chairman of the HMB in Ondo State, Dr. Akeredolu Oluwafemi, expressed gratitude for the successful installation of CCTV at all 23 facilities managed by the board. He stated, “We want to appreciate H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his support. Also, we thank Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, Dr. Victor Ategbole and all our CMDs/MDs and HMB board members and management for this innovation.”
In a telephone interview with Starnews NG, Dr. Akeredolu shared that Ondo State’s healthcare landscape has undergone a transformation under the Ease Agenda of Governor Aiyedatiwa. He disclosed that there are ongoing massive reforms across all hospitals, noting that these changes aim to enhance the overall quality of healthcare services in the state.
Dr. Akeredolu expressed his appreciation for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s unwavering support and determination to revitalise the state’s health sector. He stated confidently that, with time, the positive impacts of these reforms will become evident.
