Nigeria’s electoral body, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced the resumption of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), a move that signals renewed institutional focus on electoral participation ahead of future polls. The decision reflects an effort to expand the voter base, particularly among first-time voters and those who were unable to register during previous cycles, while reinforcing the credibility of Nigeria’s democratic process.

INEC indicated that the exercise will be conducted both online and physically across designated centres nationwide, aiming to streamline access and reduce the logistical bottlenecks that previously plagued registration efforts.
