Lagos State has the highest number of registered voters in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections, according to the latest figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The commission said the National Register of Voters now stands at 103,428,715, following the completion of the three-phase Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and the final biometric clean-up of the register.
Lagos leads the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory with 7,488,633 registered voters, followed by Kano with 6,570,276 and Kaduna with 4,662,640.

The figures were disclosed by INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, as the commission enters the final stages of preparations for the 2027 elections.
INEC said the three phases of the CVR exercise produced 10,772,421 new registrations before the commission completed its Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) verification and clean-up process.
The commission has also announced that nationwide collection of newly produced Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will begin on Friday, October 9, 2026, with collection taking place at designated Local Government Area centres.
INEC said the latest register represents the current verified voter population following the completion of the registration, claims-and-objections and biometric verification stages.
The commission is now moving into the next phase of its electoral preparations as the January 16, 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections draw closer.
