A fresh war of words has erupted between content creator Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), and human rights campaigner Omoyele Sowore over the controversial detention of B-Lord.
VDM, in a strongly worded reaction, criticised Sowore for publicly advocating B-Lord’s release without first reaching out to him privately, despite what he described as an existing relationship between them.
Expressing disappointment, the activist said he would have considered stepping back from the issue out of respect if Sowore had engaged him directly before making his position public.
The situation quickly escalated as VDM accused Sowore of attempting to “test his strength,” warning that he would not hesitate to pursue legal action if his name or image is used without his consent in connection with the matter.
In a further jab, VDM dismissed Sowore’s intervention, describing it as unserious and mocking him as “funny,” even going as far as referring to him as a “comedian.”
The exchange underscores growing divisions among public figures over B-Lord’s detention, which has sparked mixed reactions across the country.
While some voices are demanding his immediate release, others insist that due legal process should be allowed to run its full course.
As the controversy deepens, the clash between both activists highlights broader tensions within Nigeria’s advocacy space, where differing approaches to justice and public engagement continue to fuel debate.
