In a forceful rebuke, former U.S. Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris has accused President Donald Trump of recklessly endangering American troops and tarnishing the nation’s global reputation by threatening what she described as potential “war crimes” against an entire civilization.
Speaking via her official social media channels on Wednesday, Harris called Trump’s actions “abhorrent,” holding the president accountable for a conflict she described as both disastrous and poorly planned.
According to Harris, the U.S. currently lacks a clear strategy to resolve the crisis, leaving service members exposed to unnecessary danger while intensifying economic pressures at home.
“The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a ‘whole civilization’ all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it,” Harris wrote.
Harris warned that such recklessness jeopardizes the safety of American troops and diminishes U.S. credibility on the international stage.
She also noted that the ongoing conflict contributes to rising costs and hardships for ordinary Americans, reinforcing her call for accountability and caution in decision-making.
The former vice president concluded by urging both lawmakers and citizens to oppose funding what she termed an “illegal war of choice,” emphasizing the importance of principled leadership and a measured, diplomatic approach to foreign policy.
