Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has addressed the recent crisis surrounding the APC Congress, asserting his commitment to unity within the party. In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan on Wednesday, Aiyedatiwa emphasised his role as a leader who embraces all groups and interests since assuming office.
The governor highlighted his unique approach as the first in Ondo State’s history to conduct quarterly stakeholder engagements with party leaders from each local government area, fostering a sense of belonging within the APC.
Regarding the recent disturbances during the ward congress, Aiyedatiwa clarified that these issues are not reflective of his leadership. He called on security agencies to restore order at the Party Secretariat and to investigate the crisis that occurred in Idanre earlier today, urging that the perpetrators be brought to justice.
Additionally, Aiyedatiwa urged all aspirants contesting for party positions to maintain order among their supporters, stressing that the government will not tolerate any breakdown of law and order in the state.
The governor’s remarks come amidst growing tensions within the party, as stakeholders and citizens seek clarity and resolution to the unfolding situation.
