Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, accompanied by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman (Northeast), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, paid a courtesy visit to APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, following Fintiri’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
The meeting also included former PDP Chairman Hamza Alhaji Bello Madagali, APC State Chairman Idris Shuaibu, APC Adamawa State Organising Secretary Comrade Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, and several National Assembly members who recently joined the APC.
During discussions, Governor Fintiri pledged full loyalty to the APC and committed to delivering at least 85 percent of Adamawa State’s votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
He described his defection as a strategic move aimed at strengthening the party, fostering unity, and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In response, Chairman Yilwatda welcomed Fintiri’s commitment, asserting that the wave of defections would consolidate the APC’s position and strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
The meeting signals a significant political realignment in Adamawa State, highlighting the growing influence of the APC in the region ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
