“God Took Him” – Singer Niniola Announces Death of Husband

Nigerian afro-house singer Niniola has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika, in a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram page.

The Grammy-nominated artist disclosed the heartbreaking news early Wednesday morning, leaving fans and colleagues shocked across social media.

Niniola’s husband, Michael Ndika, was reportedly the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform known for promoting afro-house music and contemporary African entertainment content.

In one of the emotional posts, the singer simply wrote, “God took him.”

In another post, she added: “My husband died.”

Expressing grief over the loss, the singer later shared another emotional message reflecting on the length of their relationship.

“God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years,” she wrote.

Details surrounding the circumstances of Ndika’s death were not immediately made public, as the singer has consistently kept her private life away from public attention and social media scrutiny.

Niniola, aged 39, rose to prominence after emerging as one of the top contestants on Project Fame West Africa in 2013. Since then, she has established herself as one of Nigeria’s leading afro-house performers with international recognition.

Her hit single “Maradona,” released in 2017, earned global acclaim and attracted endorsements and collaborations from international music stars including DJ Snake, Drake, Timbaland and Beyoncé.

The announcement has since generated reactions from fans, entertainers and sympathisers, many of whom have taken to social media to express condolences and support for the grieving singer.
