Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of Britain has been taken into custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Thames Valley Police announced the arrest this morning following allegations against the former prince that surfaced after the release of extensive documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The arrest coincided with images circulating online that appeared to show unmarked police vehicles at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England, where plain-clothed officers were seen gathering outside Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor’s residence.
The Thames Valley Police had previously stated that they were investigating claims that a woman was trafficked to the UK by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor, as well as allegations that he shared confidential information with Epstein while serving as the UK’s trade envoy.
Earlier this month, King Charles expressed his “deep concern” regarding the allegations surrounding Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor’s behavior.
