Former Deputy Governor of Ondo State and ex-member of the House of Representatives, Agboola Alfred Ajayi, has formally obtained the expression of interest and nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress for the Ondo South Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ajayi picked up the forms on Tuesday in Abuja, signalling his intention to contest for the senatorial seat under the ruling party.

The former deputy governor, who represented Ese-Odo/Ilaje Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, is seeking to represent Ondo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

His supporters described the development as a major step in his political ambition, expressing confidence in his chances in the race.

A statement released by his aide, Sam Ogunmusi, said the move reflected Ajayi’s commitment to serving the people of Ondo South.

“Together, we move as one big family,” the statement added.

Ajayi has remained a prominent figure in Ondo State politics, having previously served as deputy governor and contested the governorship election in the state.

His entrance into the senatorial race is expected to reshape political calculations within the APC in Ondo South ahead of the party’s primary election.
