Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has recorded a landslide victory at his polling unit in Saturday’s governorship election, polling 326 votes to overwhelmingly defeat other contenders.
The governor, who is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), cast his ballot at Polling Unit 003 located in his family compound in RA 04, Ekiti West Local Government Area.
Results announced at the polling unit showed that the APC candidate garnered 326 votes out of the 333 accredited voters who participated in the election.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured two votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and the African Action Congress (AAC) recorded one vote each. Three votes were declared invalid.
Notably, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) failed to secure any vote at the polling unit.
Speaking after casting his vote, Oyebanji expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election, describing the exercise as peaceful and orderly.
He also commended voters for turning out to participate in the democratic process, noting that the level of participation was encouraging despite the number of registered voters at the unit.
