Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Amotekun Corps were deployed to the polling unit of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, as voting commenced in the state’s local government elections.

The security personnel arrived at the polling centre on Saturday morning and immediately took up strategic positions around the venue to ensure a peaceful exercise.

The coordinated deployment was aimed at preventing vote-buying, maintaining order and deterring any form of violence that could disrupt the electoral process.

The local government election is being conducted across the 16 local government areas of the state under the supervision of the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (EKSIEC).

Several political parties are participating in the exercise, with voters electing chairmen and councillors for the various local councils.
