The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, led by Jarret Tenebe as state chairman, has been re‑elected unopposed by delegates in a peaceful party congress held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City. Delegates from the 192 wards across the state returned the entire 36‑member State Executive Committee through voice affirmation, underscoring what party leaders described as cohesion and internal unity.
During the exercise, conducted by Hon. Kabiru Ajana, Chairman of the National State Congress Committee for Edo, Tenebe and his executive openly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election and Governor Monday Okpebholo for re‑election in the 2028 governorship contest, citing both leaders’ performance and developmental strides.
Tenebe also announced the endorsement of Senator Adams Oshiomhole for a second term in the Senate, praising his representation of the Edo North Senatorial District.
Political analysts view the affirmation and endorsements as a tactical move ahead of the 2027 general elections, signalling a unified Edo APC apparatus ready to mobilise support statewide, while projecting stability and continuity within the ruling party in Nigeria’s southwestern region.
