Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (African Action Congress) governorship candidate for Abia State in the 2027 elections, Doris Ogala, has reacted after activist Omoyele Sowore was remanded at the Kuje Custodial Centre following a ruling of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court ordered that Sowore be held at Kuje Custodial Centre on Monday, June 22, over his ongoing legal dispute with the Department of State Services (DSS).
The court’s decision followed the revocation of his bail, with the judge also dismissing an application requesting the trial judge to step aside from the case. The matter was adjourned for further hearing.
Sowore, who is facing charges linked to alleged cybercrime after controversial social media remarks, addressed supporters outside the courtroom, insisting he was prepared for detention and would continue his political mobilisation despite the ruling.
Reacting on social media and in a video shared afterward, Doris Ogala alleged that the development was not unexpected, claiming it was premeditated by authorities.
“They already planned this, and they knew they were going to do this, but Sowore is not afraid to go to Kuje prison,” she said.
She further criticised the judicial process, describing the ruling as “wrong” and alleging that the system had failed Nigerians.
The case, which has drawn widespread public attention, continues at the Federal High Court as further hearings are expected in the coming days.
