Dangote Industries Limited has introduced a whistleblower initiative offering a ₦500,000 cash reward to individuals who provide credible information leading to the arrest of persons involved in the illegal use of the company’ trucks.
In a statement issued on Monday, the company urged members of the public to support the campaign by reporting any Dangote-branded truck found transporting goods outside those officially approved for each subsidiary.
According to the company, Dangote Cement trucks are authorised to convey only cement, limestone, clinker, coal and high-grade gypsum, while Dangote Sugar Refinery vehicles are designated exclusively for sugar products.
It added that trucks belonging to NASCON Allied Industries are restricted to transporting Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning products, Dangote Packaging vehicles are meant for bags and packaging materials, Dangote Petroleum Refinery trucks are approved for polypropylene products, while Dangote Fertiliser Limited vehicles are authorised to haul urea fertiliser.
The company warned that any truck found carrying unauthorised goods would be regarded as engaging in illegal haulage, with both the driver and the owner of the cargo liable to arrest, confiscation of the goods and prosecution under the law.
“Anyone with verifiable information that leads to the arrest of persons involved in illegal haulage activities or the recovery of unauthorised goods transported on Dangote trucks will receive a cash reward of Five Hundred Thousand Naira,” the company said.
To support enforcement efforts, Dangote advised whistleblowers to provide key details, including the truck’s registration number, cab number, location, type of goods being conveyed, vehicle colour and, where possible, photographs.
The company also disclosed that dedicated hotlines have been established across its operations to receive reports, while law enforcement agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, have been authorised to arrest drivers using company trucks for unauthorised commercial haulage.
Reaffirming its stance against logistics-related fraud, Dangote Industries called on the public to partner with the company in exposing illegal operators.
“Public cooperation remains critical in our efforts to eradicate illegal haulage activities. We encourage anyone with credible information to come forward and help us maintain the integrity of our transportation system,” the statement added.
The company said the initiative forms part of its commitment to promoting transparency, accountability and lawful business practices across its logistics network while ensuring offenders are brought to justice.
