Dangote IPO Rush Disrupts Bamboo App As Investors Scramble For Shares

The surge of investors seeking to participate in the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE public offer has disrupted access to the Bamboo investment app.

Some users were reportedly unable to log into the platform on Monday as a sharp increase in traffic overwhelmed the application.

Bamboo acknowledged the disruption in a statement posted on its official X account, attributing the difficulty to the unusually high number of users attempting to access the app to subscribe to the Dangote Refinery offer.

“Hey everyone, we’re getting a much higher-than-expected traffic trying to get into the Dangote IPO, and it’s making it difficult for some users to log into the Bamboo app.

“We’re working on a fix, and it will be up and running shortly,” the company said.

The platform did not provide a specific timeline for the full restoration of access but assured affected users that its technical team was working to resolve the problem.

The disruption came amid heightened interest in the public offer by Nigerian investors seeking to acquire shares in Dangote Refinery.

The public offer has generated significant retail investor attention, with the refinery seeking to broaden ownership of the business through participation in the capital market.
