A Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled a hearing for February 24, 2026, regarding a lawsuit that seeks to force the deregistration of the African Democratic Congress and four other political parties due to alleged violations of the constitution.
The case, identified as FHC/ABJ/CS/2637/25, was brought forth by the Incorporated Trustees of the National Forum of Former Legislators.
The defendants in this case include the Independent National Electoral Commission, the attorney-general of the federation, the African Democratic Congress, Accord Party, Zenith Labour Party, Action Alliance, and Action Peoples Party.
The hearing was originally set for Monday before Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, but it did not take place.
The court has now postponed the case to February 24, when the arguments are anticipated to commence. More details can be found in the comments section.
