Confusion as Atiku, Amaechi Declared Winners of ADC Primary in Ebonyi State

Something unusual is unfolding in Ebonyi State as two different factions of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have simultaneously declared different candidates as winners of the party’s presidential primary election.

Hours after the election, Rotimi Amaechi was announced as the winner, polling 6,050 votes, defeating Mohammed Hayatu-Deen with 4,840 votes and Atiku Abubakar, who scored 1,210 votes.

This result was officially announced by Jennifer Adibe Nwafor.

However, the ADC faction led by Silas Onu later released a conflicting result, declaring Atiku Abubakar the winner with 15,300 votes, far ahead of Rotimi Amaechi, who polled 2,200 votes, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who received 200 votes.

The conflicting announcements have left Ebonyians in serious confusion over the true winner of the party’s primary in the state.
