On the third day of the NVBF 2025 Super Cup, the Chief of Naval Staff’s men’s team (CNS Spikers) faced off against the Nigeria Correctional Service in a closely contested match.
The CNS Spikers triumphed with a score of 3-2, winning in five sets: 1st set 18-25, 2nd set 34-36, 3rd set 25-22, 4th set 25-22, and the final 5th set 8-15.
In another exciting match in the men’s category, the Men’s Defence Spikers defeated Life Camp with a score of 3-1, winning in four sets: 1st set 25-19, 2nd set 25-21, 3rd set 21-25, and 4th set 25-16.
In the women’s category, the Customs Service women’s team made a remarkable comeback to defeat the COAS Spikers 3-2 in a thrilling match at the 2025 Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Super Cup, held at the indoor hall of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
The COAS Spikers began with a strong stand, confidently taking the first set 25-21 and establishing an early lead in the match.
However, the Customs Ladies responded with renewed determination, taking the third set convincingly 25-15 after splitting the first two sets, shifting the momentum in their favor.
Just when it seemed the Customs team was set to finish strong, the COAS Spikers rallied to win the fourth set 25-23.
In the decisive fifth set, the Customs Ladies maintained their composure, ultimately securing a 15-9 victory to clinch a hard-fought 3-2 win.
In the meantime, the Volleyball Federation of Nigeria has suspended the current championship for the fourth day to allow for an anti-doping seminar organized by the Nigerian Anti-Doping Olympic Committee.
All players and officials are required to attend the anti-doping event on Thursday morning. The volleyball federation announced that matches will resume on Friday, February 5, 2026.
