Actor Charles Okocha defeated street-pop singer Portable in their celebrity boxing rematch after the singer was disqualified for leaving the ring before the end of the opening round at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The bout, tagged “Unfinished Business,” attracted a large crowd of fans eager to witness the much-anticipated showdown between the two entertainers.
Portable looked sharp in the early exchanges and appeared to be in control before the contest descended into chaos as both fighters became involved in a wrestling-style scuffle, prompting the referee and security personnel to intervene.
After the first round, Portable walked out of the ring while officials attempted to restore order. Although he was persuaded to return, match officials ruled that he had abandoned the contest and disqualified him.
Charles Okocha was subsequently declared the winner, with the decision drawing mixed reactions from spectators at the venue.
The rematch came after their first celebrity boxing contest, which Portable won, a result Okocha had challenged while calling for a second meeting.
Before the fight, Portable had expressed confidence that the event would bring happiness to him and his family. However, the evening ended in disappointment as Okocha claimed victory by disqualification to settle the rivalry.
