The member of the House of Representatives representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency of Ondo State, Donald Ojogo, has escaped death after his convoy was involved in a serious road crash along the Ore–Ondo Road.

The accident occurred on Saturday while the lawmaker was travelling to Arogbo, in the Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state, for a political engagement.

It was learnt that a commercial bus allegedly overtook Ojogo’s two-vehicle convoy dangerously before colliding with an oncoming vehicle.

The collision reportedly caused confusion on the highway, leaving several members of the lawmaker’s entourage injured.

The injured victims were subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital, where they received medical attention.

Ojogo, however, was said to have escaped without serious injuries.

The lawmaker later expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life and preventing the incident from turning into a tragedy.

He said, “God took perfect control of the situation and prevented what could have turned into a tragic incident.”

The incident has since attracted concern among the lawmaker’s associates and supporters, particularly following the injuries sustained by members of his entourage.

No death was reported as of the time of filing this report.
