The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Esther Walson-Jack, has told the House of Representatives that the office space occupied by the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja was not allocated to the council.
Appearing before the House of Representatives’ ad hoc committee investigating the PFIPC controversy on Monday, Walson-Jack clarified that the office in question was officially assigned to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
Her testimony came as the committee continues its investigation into the activities of the controversial council, including the ₦1.3 billion reportedly earmarked for it in the 2026 Appropriation Act.
Walson-Jack’s remarks are expected to add fresh momentum to the ongoing probe, as lawmakers seek to establish the legal status of the PFIPC, how it operated, and the circumstances surrounding its inclusion in the federal budget.
The committee is examining whether due process was followed in the council’s establishment, funding and use of government facilities, amid growing public concern over the controversy.
