Comrade Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade, and a known associate of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has reportedly been shot dead in Ile-Ife.
Oyeyemi was reportedly killed on Sunday at Mayfair Garage, Ile-Ife, amid a dispute allegedly linked to control of a motor park.
He was said to have been involved in transport and park management activities in the state and was a member of the Accord Party.
Reports linked the incident to a confrontation involving other party members, including Nurudeen Alowonle and the chairman of Ife Mini-Bus, popularly known as Sibi.
However, details surrounding the shooting, including the identity of the suspected gunman, remained unclear at the time of filing.
Oyeyemi had previously faced criminal allegations and legal proceedings but was granted bail in April 2024.
His reported killing comes amid longstanding tensions over motor park control and transport activities in parts of Osun State.
