Philanthropist and former governorship aspirant, Bọ̀sún Àrébùwà, FCA, has commended the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primary elections in Ondo State, praising Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and security agencies for ensuring a hitch-free exercise.
Àrébùwà, the ace Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, reacting to the outcome of the primaries held across the state’s federal constituencies, said the elections were conducted without major security concerns, describing the process as orderly and peaceful.
He specifically applauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for what he termed deliberate efforts toward maintaining peace and stability during the exercise, while also acknowledging the role played by security operatives in complying with directives aimed at ensuring smooth conduct at polling centres.
The philanthropist further urged aspirants who lost during the primaries to accept the outcome in good faith and remain committed to the party’s collective progress.
According to him, political setbacks should not discourage ambition, noting that “a winner is someone who never gives up.”
Àrébùwà encouraged unsuccessful aspirants to prepare for future political opportunities rather than resorting to bitterness or division within the party.
He also congratulated candidates who emerged victorious in the primaries and urged them to prioritise the interests of the people above personal gains if elected into office.
Àrébùwà reiterated the crucial roles of transparency, integrity and peace any time they were allowed to characterize the processes of selecting the people who would lead a nation, a state or a community. He affirmed that in many ways, when leadership emerged from good, healthy and fair processes, this psychology and style would inevitably be transfered to the overall deliveries of meaningful leadership, and that where this failed, the result would be the reverse.
Although the former Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant has yet to publicly disclose his next political move, observers say his comments reflect growing interest in the evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
