The Bauchi State Police Command has extended Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim faithful and residents across the state, while announcing heightened security measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders to intensify patrols and adopt intelligence-led operations before, during, and after the Sallah festivities.

According to the Command, the security strategy will focus on curbing criminal activities such as sara-suka violence, phone snatching, pickpocketing, and traffic-related offences, which are often prevalent during festive periods.

The police also called on parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and wards to prevent reckless behaviour that could disrupt public peace.

Residents were further urged to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station or through the Command Control Room via 08151849417.

The statement added that a large number of security personnel have been deployed across the state, with assurances that the Command will continue to collaborate with other security agencies, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to maintain peace and order throughout the celebration.
