The police command of Bauchi state has achieved huge advancement in the recent investigations. They have caught numerous criminals on robbery, murder, extortion and cyber crimes.
According to Police PR officer SP Nafiu Habib the arrests were carried out upon people calling in to seek assistance and after information gathering.
Three suspects; Aminu Musa, Yusuf Sunusi and Abdullahi Ahmad were arrested in Darazo Local Government Area after they had attacked and robbed three individuals in Rigar Garba Village. Usman Gidado, Jibrin Bala and Dahiru Iliyasu who were the victims reported that they were attacked twice at Unguwar Jarmai and lost three mobile phones worth 104,000 naira.
The police claim the gang leader, Saifullahi Hussaini (or Ramos) and his assistants remain free. They are still being sought by the police.
On February 11, two suspects were arrested, Abdulmumini Ibrahim and Ya’u Malam Halilu after robbing a shop in Tabanni Village, Alkaleri Local Government Area. They fired in the air and stole soft drinks, clothes and other items.
The suspects were located with the assistance of the local citizens, and the stolen goods were recovered by the police. The two confessed the offense and gave the names of three additional accomplices who are on the run.
At Yana, Shira Local Government Area, Mohammed Hassan was arrested by police on the killing of Hassan Malam Gurgu. Gurgu was discovered in a bush in a coma with severe head injuries and died in Yana General Hospital. Police are in the process of investigation.
Istifanus Mela was also arrested by the Command on the account of cyber bullying and threatening other people. The issue of a death threat came in a phone call to Alhaji Dan Aliya Muhammad of the village of Warra. Mela will be charged by the police.
Police Commissioner Sani-Omolori Aliyu said that the police will continue to combat crime and he requested the citizens to continue providing quality information to the police in a timely manner.
