Arteta Set To Continue Arsenal Stay With Fresh Contract Deal

Mikel Arteta is set to remain in charge of Arsenal after reaching an agreement with the Premier League champions over a new contract.

The Spanish tactician’s current deal is scheduled to expire at the end of the season, but months of negotiations have now resulted in an agreement to extend his tenure at the Emirates.

Although Arsenal have yet to disclose the duration of the new contract, the agreement is expected to keep Arteta at the club into at least his 10th year as manager.

Arteta, who was appointed in December 2019, is also expected to receive a substantial improvement on his existing reported £10 million annual salary, alongside additional performance-related bonuses.

The agreement follows recent comments from Arteta in which he sought to ease concerns over his future at the north London club.

“They [the fans] don’t have to worry about any of that because I want to be here. I’m extremely happy and I feel very grateful to work with the people I work with,” Arteta said last week.

Since taking charge, Arteta has overseen Arsenal’s emergence as regular Premier League title challengers, with the club now looking to build further on its recent success.

The new agreement is set to give Arsenal continuity as Arteta continues his project at the Emirates.
