Former Ondo State governorship aspirant and APC Renewed Hope Project 2027 South-West Patron, Bosun Arebuwa FCA, has thanked his supporters and APC stakeholders for their support and warm reception following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), while vowing to deploy his political experience, organisational capacity and grassroots network to mobilise massive grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid.
Arebuwa, who also serves as Grand Patron of the Renewed Hope Project 2027 in Ondo State, gave the assurance in a statement issued on Thursday, following his formal defection from the PDP to the APC alongside his supporters.
He said his decision to move to the APC and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration was based on his conviction that a better approach to governance and national development could be achieved under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Ondo political leader assured supporters who had entrusted their political future to him that their decision to accompany him into the APC would not be taken for granted, stressing that their trust and confidence in his political decision would not go unrewarded.
He thanked them for their loyalty, trust and continued support, saying their confidence in his leadership remained a major motivation as he began a new phase of political engagement.
Arebuwa also expressed appreciation to APC stakeholders and members for the warm reception accorded him and his supporters during the defection and inauguration of the Renewed Hope Project 2027 Ondo State Chapter in Akure on September 24, 2026.
He stressed that his decision to join the APC was not motivated by personal gain, but by what he described as a broader commitment to the people of Ondo State, the South-West and Nigeria at large.
According to him, his new political alignment is intended to provide a platform through which his experience, grassroots network and organisational capacity can be deployed towards supporting development and effective political participation.
Arebuwa said he was particularly encouraged by the support received from thousands of his followers across the state, noting that their movement into the APC had created a new responsibility for him to justify the confidence they had reposed in him.
The South-West Patron and Ondo State Grand Patron of the Renewed Hope Project 2027 disclosed that, following his official defection, his team had swiftly launched deeper physical and digital activities aimed at mobilising citizens within and outside Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the early mobilisation was designed to ensure that all necessary arrangements were put in place ahead of the elections, particularly at the grassroots.
Arebuwa said voter mobilisation, awareness and education would form an important part of his team’s activities as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
He noted that with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing the schedule for Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collection, there was a need to create greater awareness among eligible voters and educate them on the electoral process.
According to him, the objective is not only to encourage existing voters to participate but also to reach new voters, particularly at the grassroots, and ensure that they understand how to cast their ballots correctly without making avoidable mistakes.
He said the mobilisation would extend to communities across the state as part of efforts to deepen political participation and ensure that citizens are adequately prepared for the electoral process.
ÀRÈBÙWÀ further called on his supporters to reciprocate his appreciation by actively participating in APC activities whenever they are invited or called upon to do so.
He urged them to remain organised, committed and peaceful as they work with other members and stakeholders of the APC towards the 2027 elections.
The former PDP governorship aspirant formally announced his movement to the APC on September 24 during the inauguration of the Ondo State chapter of the Renewed Hope Project 2027 in Akure. His transition was accompanied by supporters from across the state, with the political leader subsequently taking up his roles as Grand Patron of the project in Ondo State and Patron for the South-West Zone.
At the inauguration, Arebuwa pledged to deploy his political experience, capacity and grassroots network towards mobilising support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. He also said his grassroots engagement would continue across Ondo State, including its 18 local government areas.
He had previously disclosed that his Bòsún Àrébùwà Ìmólè Political Leadership Movement (BAIPoLM) has structures across the state’s 18 LGAs, with activities centred on grassroots mobilisation, community engagement, leadership development and empowerment.
Arebuwa said the new political chapter would therefore be centred on service, mobilisation, voter education and engagement with the people, while assuring his supporters that their trust in his leadership would remain a responsibility he would continue to uphold.
He urged them to remain steadfast and participate actively in the political process, stressing that the task ahead requires collective effort, discipline and commitment.
He said his vision was to work with his supporters, APC stakeholders and other relevant stakeholders to build stronger grassroots structures while contributing to the broader Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
Arebuwa concluded by thanking his supporters once again for standing by him during the transition, assuring them that their loyalty and confidence would continue to receive his attention as he begins the next phase of his political journey.
