Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has instructed his lawyers to drop all pending lawsuits against Senator Natasha and several other individuals.
The Senate President made the revelation during a New Year service held at Sacred Heart Parish in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Akpabio, who had previously filed nearly nine court cases against persons he accused of defamation and slander, said his perspective changed after listening to the sermon delivered by the priest at the service.
“I had almost nine cases in court against some individuals who defamed me, who lied against me and slandered my name. But as I listened to the priest, I suddenly realised he was speaking to me,” he said.
He further explained that the message inspired him to forgive those involved, prompting his directive to discontinue all legal actions.
“Therefore, I hereby direct my solicitors to withdraw all lawsuits against them,” the Senate President declared.
