Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has pledged to unite the people of the state and consolidate his administration’s achievements after securing another four-year term in office.
Adeleke, in a message following his victory, thanked God and the people of Osun for reposing confidence in him to govern the state for another term.
The governor described the victory as belonging to the people, commending their resilience, courage and commitment to democracy.
He also extended an olive branch to his opponents, calling on all residents to embrace peace, forgiveness and unity.
“There is no victor, no vanquished. I extend the olive branch to all my co-contestants. I am the Governor of all,” Adeleke stated.
The governor also paid tribute to victims of pre-election violence, observing a minute of silence in their memory.
He urged traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to take an active role in the healing and reconciliation process across the state.
Adeleke assured the people of Osun that his administration would use the renewed mandate to strengthen its achievements, address shortcomings and build on the progress recorded during his first term.
He said his administration would accelerate development, expand good governance and continue efforts to transform Osun from a civil service-dependent state into an industrial state and a preferred destination for investors.
The governor also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for what he described as his support for a free and fair election.
He further commended Nigerians and democracy advocates at home and abroad, particularly members of the media, for their role in supporting democratic values.
Adeleke’s victory now sets the stage for another four years of his administration, with the governor promising to focus on development, reconciliation and economic transformation across Osun State.
