Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, citing his administration’s reforms in education, taxation and other sectors.

Badmus made her position known during a live conversation with media personality Daddy Freeze, where she defended the administration’s policies and criticised Nigerians who, she said, refused to acknowledge its achievements.

“Tinubu has done a lot for Nigeria. Some Nigerians don’t like the truth, especially when it concerns President Tinubu. He has introduced several reforms that Nigerians are now benefiting from, including the tax reforms and NELFUND,” she said.

The actress specifically praised the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing the student loan scheme as an important opportunity for young Nigerians who may struggle to finance their education.

Reflecting on her university experience, Badmus said student loans were not available to her at the time, describing the current initiative as a significant development.

She also argued that the administration deserved recognition for its education policies, adding that political support should be based on an assessment of individual candidates rather than party affiliation.
“That’s why I’m campaigning and voting for him, and he will win,” she said.

Badmus further dismissed the belief that social media popularity determines electoral outcomes, insisting that grassroots support remained crucial in Nigerian politics.

“Some people think elections are won on social media. Being popular on social media does not guarantee victory at the polls. The grassroots are the key, and Tinubu has them,” she added.

Her endorsement comes as political mobilisation intensifies ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Badmus served on the Creative Arts Directorate of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 election.
