Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has expressed confidence that the people of the state will overwhelmingly support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains united and fully committed to securing a resounding victory for the President. The governor made the declaration on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in Akure, Ondo State, during an event organised under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
Aiyedatiwa stated that the APC-led administration in Ondo has already begun mobilising support across the state’s 18 local government areas, insisting that Tinubu’s economic reforms, infrastructure projects and social intervention programmes have strengthened public confidence in his leadership.
He said the people of Ondo recognise the Federal Government’s commitment to national development and would reciprocate with overwhelming support at the polls.
The governor reaffirmed that Ondo remains one of the APC’s strongest political bases, expressing optimism that the state would improve on its 2023 electoral performance in favour of President Tinubu.
He also commended the Renewed Hope Initiative, led by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for its humanitarian interventions targeting women, children and vulnerable groups across the country.
Political observers view Aiyedatiwa’s remarks as part of the APC’s early preparations for the 2027 elections, as political parties continue grassroots mobilisation and consultations across the country.
While the governor remains optimistic of a strong outing for the ruling party, opposition parties have also intensified efforts to expand their support base ahead of the next general election.
