Popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has criticized the rising violence in the southeastern region of Nigeria, particularly among those claiming to fight for Biafra.

According to Afripost, In a Facebook post, Edochie expressed his dismay over the killing of innocent Igbos in the name of the struggle, questioning the logic behind such actions. He argued that there is no justification for harming one’s own people, regardless of ideological differences.

According to him, resorting to violence against one’s community is an act of cowardice, while true bravery lies in protecting one’s people at all costs.

He wrote, “An Igbo man says he’s fighting for Biafra. Then he starts killing his own people. So who then are you fighting for? There can never be any justification for harming your own people, whether they agree with your ideology or not. Only a coward kills his people to make a point. A courageous man protects his people at all costs. ONYE GBULU NWANNE YA ABURO ODOGWU!”

His remarks have sparked discussions among Nigerians, with many echoing his sentiments while others debated the complexities of the ongoing agitation in the region.
