The Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has expressed his full support for Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, affirming that he is well-qualified to lead Lagos State as its next governor.

According to Politics Nigeria, in a recent interview on the Mic On podcast, Olawande addressed the growing speculation surrounding Seyi’s potential bid for the 2027 governorship election, confidently stating that Seyi has what it takes to govern the state effectively.

“He’s not too young to become a governor,” Olawande emphasized, underscoring Seyi’s preparedness for the role.

The Minister described Seyi as a dedicated and well-trained individual, with a strong commitment to youth empowerment, which he has demonstrated long before his father assumed the presidency.

While rumors about Seyi’s candidacy began circulating in 2024, following endorsements from groups like the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), Olawande clarified that Seyi is not personally driving the campaign for the governorship.

“Seyi is not the one leading the campaign to become the next governor of Lagos State,” he added.
