You need to do hard work to win 2023 election, Osinbajo tells APC youths

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that it will require hard work for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to win the 2023 general elections because according to him, President Muhammadu Buhari will not be on the ballot anymore.

Osinbajo posited that the APC rode upon Buhari’s personality to win the 2015 and 2019 general elections.

According to a statement by Laolu Akande, Osinbajo’s Media Aide, the Vice President gave the hint when he received a delegation of the APC National Youth Lobby Group, at the Presidential Villa during the presentation of a report of the party’s Youth Conference in June this year.

The VP was quoted to have said, “this lobby group will need to deal with the issue of inclusion at the grassroots first.”

“Today, the APC can win elections, why not, we have a very popular President who can control significant votes, we have partners everywhere.”

“Whereas, in the coming years, when we do not have such a political leader who is as popular as the President, you are going to need to do the hard work. We can’t assume that the votes will all come in.”
