‘Yahoo Girl on Altar’: Reno Omokri Faces Backlash Over Offensive Remark About Female Pastor

Social media personality Reno Omokri is facing widespread condemnation for a derogatory comment in which he referred to Pastor Becky Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre as a “Yahoo girl on the altar” following her comments on tithing.

The controversial remark has sparked significant outrage, particularly from the Nigeria Youths Frontiers and Peace Advocates (NYFPA), who have issued a strong rebuke.

In a statement, Samuel Geofrey, the National Publicity Secretary of NYFPA, denounced Omokri’s comment as “inflammatory, unfounded, and highly irresponsible,” accusing him of disrespecting Christianity and lowering the standard of public discourse.

The statement read: “Such remarks are deeply offensive to millions of Nigerians who hold their faith and spiritual leaders in high esteem.”

NYFPA also criticized Omokri for employing divisive rhetoric to seek attention, pointing out the inconsistencies in his personal and political conduct.

The group emphasized that Omokri’s comments attack not only Pastor Becky Enenche but also the millions of Nigerians who cherish their religious beliefs. It called for a rejection of such language, advocating instead for respectful dialogue, unity, and understanding.

Reaffirming its dedication to promoting peace, NYFPA stated that Omokri’s remarks harm social cohesion and called for greater responsibility in public discourse, especially on sensitive religious matters.

Omokri, known for his controversial views on politics and religion, is now facing renewed calls for accountability regarding his statements on faith-related issues.
