She bursted into tears uncontrollably as she explained her travail to Starnews Correspondent. She said: “I’m finished; I couldn’t believe my only investment is gone. I can’t just explain how this could have happened? First Bank is very close to my shop, and this pharmaceutical store is almost opposite my shop. Both of them have armed security guards who are always on duty at night.”
“My shop is on the road as you can see yourself. Only God knows how they burgled my shop and stole all my goods without anyone noticing them. This is strange … really strange to me. hmmmm… can’t believe my shop is gone”. Tears roll down her cheeks as she cried in a loud voice for help.
Above were the words of Mrs Moniola Omowole, the owner of a renowned boutique for women, Men, and baby products in Okitipupa Local Government of Ondo State, whose shop was raided by unknown burglars.
Starnews learnt that the incident happened in the middle of Sunday night to Monday morning.
“I got to my shop on Monday morning only to discover that my shop had been broken and goods worth over Eight Million Naira (N8M) had been raided”, Mrs Omowole told Starnews Correspondent as she wept profusely.
Upon inquiry, she however said the incident had been reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Okitipupa.
When Starnews however sought the reaction of the Divisional Police Officer of Okitipupa, he said he was not authorized to speak to the press. He referred our Correspondent to the State PRO of Nigerian Police Force in Akure.
