Mr Ayilola Oluwagbenga, the winner of Mr. Tourism Nigeria 2018 and a final year law student of Obafemi Awolowo University, has begun the mobilisation of 1,000 students to support the presidential candidate of the Opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ahlaji Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the general election on Saturday.
Ayilola claimed he decided to mobilise support for Atiku for his promise to restructure Nigeria, give 40% of political appointment to the youth, and because of the excruciating poverty in the land.
Starnews learnt that Ayilola spoke to journalists at the school premises on Monday when he begins the mobilisation of about 1,000 students for Atiku/Obi ticket under the PDP.
He was sighted with a branded round neck pollo shirt at the school premises while conducting cluster campaign for Atiku with distribution of branded white pollo shirts for students.
“I am doing everything within my power to mobilise minimum of 1,000 youths in support of Atiku and Obi ticket before the Election Day on Saturday.
“I am interested in Atiku Abubakar because we shared the same views on restructuring as the best means to ameliorating the problem confronting this country.
“Besides the high rate of excruciating poverty in Nigeria today which was as a result of failed economic policy by the APC government, don’t also forget that 90% of political office holders in the cabinet of president Buhari are analogue leaders who had rules Nigeria even before I was born.
“We can’t continue with this type of political class who are not ready to incorporate Nigerian youths into governance. Atiku has promised that 40% of political appointment will go to the youths.
“It is a good start if such promise is fulfilled. I believe the incorporation of the youth into governance is the best way to begin the journey of taking over from this current political class in Nigeria”, Ayilola stated.
