I laughed at most burial when I see people praying for the departed soul of the deceased. This is because the prayer is meaningless and unfruitful.
Bible says: “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5).
It is indeed a long term church tradition exhibited in a long term deceit and ignorance. Many churches, pastors and ministers are guilty of this.
The deceased who died as an unrepentant sinner cannot rest in peace no matter how we pray and fast for that person.
Even the most anointed man of God in the world can no longer pray for the salvation of a sinner who already died. Our responsibility is to pray for the family and those he left behind, not the deceased.
We will all get eternal judgement either eternal life or eternal condemnation after death (Rev 20:14-15). We are useful for God when we are still alive and not in death.
So, your death relatives won’t rest in peace if he or she dies without salvation. Yes, I repeat, he or she can’t rest in Peace. Stop prayering for the dead to rest in peace and examine yourself while you’re still alive.
Can you also rest in peace if you die today without salvation? Can you make Heaven if the owner of your soul come visiting? How are you living your life? Only you and God could tell. There is no secret before God. He has record of how we are living our lives here on earth.
That’s why you will also not rest in peace if you die without salvation no matter who offer such prayer for you after death.
Please repent now! Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Work towards your Heaven today! This world is vanity! Confess Jesus Christ today as your Lord and Saviour and become a new creature. The Scriptures says if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2nd Corinthians 5:17).
Say : Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sin. Forgive me. (confess your sin) I accept you today as my Lord and Saviour, come into my life and remain there forever. Amen.
