Why Sotitobire’s church in Akure was set ablaze by angry youths

The reason a church in Akure, Sotitobire Miracle Center, was burnt down on Wednesday by yet-to-be identified angry youths has emerged.

Starnews gathered on Wednesday evening that there were rumours since yesterday that the corpse of the missing one year old boy was allegedly exhumed from the church altar by men of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday.

The situation turned violent after news filtered that the corpse of the missing one-year-old was found after the altar was allegedly dug by the operatives of the DSS.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Undie Adie, however, said that nobody was exhumed from the church premises or from the altar.

Meanwhile, the DSS who are currently carrying out investigation on the missing of the child has not issued any official statement to confirm or deny the allegation regards the incident as at the time of this report.

Starnews reported seven days ago that Prophet Babatunde Alfa, the Founder and General Overseer of Sotitobire Church in Akure, was arrested by men of the Department of State Services (DSS) over the missing of a child in his church.

The pastor was picked by operatives of the DSS from Abuja over his alleged roles in the missing of a one-year-old boy, Gold Kolawole, at his church one month ago.

Starnews also gathered that during the attack on the church on Wednesday, a policeman and an Okada rider were killed, with some of the branches of the church and various vehicles belonging to the church razed.

It was further learnt that the angry youths also went to the pastor’s house to destroy the place with many exotic cars vandalized.
