Dele Farotimi, a spokesman for the Labour Party presidential campaign council, has said that many individuals in Lagos State will be imprisoned if a new government is elected. While speaking with Rudolf Okonkwo (Dr. Damages), he revealed this revelation.
Farotimi, the LP’s presidential candidate, claims that unlike other members of Nigeria’s ruling class, Peter Obi can be trusted in the public sphere. He said that many people in Lagos State would be taken to prison if a new government took power, and that Obi, who was governor of Anambra for eight years, had been followed by two governors without any allegations of theft being made against him.
Although Farotimi claims he has no idea what Peter Obi gets up to in his spare time, he does know that Peter Obi can be trusted in his professional capacity. Other members of Nigeria’s ruling elite can’t make the same claim. What happened that his opponents were elected governor in his place? I wonder how many of them have come up with evidence of wrongdoing, such as theft, against him. The extent of theft and misconduct in Lagos State during the past 24 years means that many people would go to prison if a new administration takes control in Lagos State, which is why the situation in Lagos deteriorated so rapidly on March 18. They’re going to jail to rot. Peter served as governor for eight years; his two successors have no vested political or personal interests in keeping quiet about his legacy.
