Why Kaduna bombing wasn’t deliberate – CDS Musa

The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Christopher Musa, on Saturday, said the accidental airstrike in Kaduna was not deliberate, assuring that such will not happen again.

Musa stated that the incident that led to the death of some villagers in Tudun Diri area of the state, with several injured was not a deliberate act.

Starnews gathered that about 100 villagers in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, were killed by an airstrike on Sunday while celebrating Maulud.

Confirming the incident, the Nigerian Army said the airstrike was a mistake due to erroneous intelligence.

Musa who spoke while addressing journalists at the 4th Edition of the Chief of Defence Staff Armed Forces and Security Agencies Half Marathon Championship 2023 in Abuja, noted that the Nigerian Army would not abandon the victims of the incident.

According to Musa: “We pray for the repose of those who have died and those who were injured.

“We will make sure that they are provided for, and the Federal Government and everyone are putting hands on deck to ensure that we take care of the community, take care of those that have been injured, and also ensure that this doesn’t happen again.

“It was not deliberate. It was something that should not have been. We are going to move forward and we are using this competition to appreciate Nigerians for all their support and love for members of the armed forces and to assure them that we will continue to work very hard.”
