Why I am seeking political power – Akingboye, PDP guber aspirant

Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, popularly known as OBA, a Governorship Aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has emphasized his commitment to servant leadership and the betterment of every citizen in the state.

 

Oba revealed this at the state party secretariat in Alagbaka, Akure.

 

Akingboye’s speech resonated with a promise of genuine change, focusing on economic expansion, efficient governance, poverty alleviation, and enhanced security measures.

 

He said his vision is rooted in the empowerment and welfare of all residents, transcending personal ambitions for the collective good.

 

The event, attended by a diverse array of party faithfuls, community leaders, students, and supporters, was marked by an atmosphere of unity and anticipation.

 

“I do not seek political power for the lure of the office, self aggrandisement or pecuniary gains of myself or family members but to create a new vista, broaden the state’s economic base, cut cost of governance, prioritise the welfare of the people, target rampant poverty and make the state safe, sane and secure for all its law abiding residnets and guests,” Akingboye in his speech at the party secretariat said.

 

Hon. Tola Alabere, the State Chairman of the PDP, reaffirmed the party’s dedication to democratic principles, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process for all aspirants.

 

The outpouring of support for Akingboye was palpable, with leaders and representatives from various regions expressing unwavering solidarity.
