By Bada Abraham

The Director General of Nigerian Youth Service Corp, NYSC, Brig. Gen. YD Ahmed in a video obtained by the CHANNELS TELEVISION, said that the Nigerian NYSC members are reserved for war.

In his speech, he stressed the potential already inculcated in the corp members who in his assertion believed their basic military training would not exceed 3 to 4 months for them to become fully trained professional soldiers.

Meanwhile, the General said since these ladies and men are given an orientation by the military, and their training programs are nothing less than military outlines, therefore, they are reserved soldiers should there is any outbreak of war, he maintained.

“Corp members are part and parcel of the National Defense Policy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, whenever there’s serious war, we are going to mobilize the literate ones and give substantial military engagement training for effective combat results.

In his testimony, Gen. Ahmed explained how proliferous the Corp members are in terms of adapting to training in the camp within 2 weeks. Because of the foregoing, the female corp members can now blow military giggle and bands; even the majority displayed enormous professionalism during the conduct of drills and other military-related activities, so, it will take the nation little resources to remold them against what we usually spend on crude recruits.
